2021 FANA World Cup

The FANA World Cup, often simply called the World Cup, is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Football Association of Nations (FANA), the sport's global governing body. The championship has been awarded every year since the inaugural tournament in 2015. The current champion is Fordia, which won its frst title at the 2021 tournament in Namimori and Qasentria.

The current format involves a qualification phase, which takes place over the preceding three years, to determine which teams qualify for the tournament phase. In the tournament phase, 32 teams, including the automatically qualifying host nation(s), compete for the title at venues within the host nation(s) over about a month.

10 countries have hosted the World Cup. Fordia has hosted the tournament two times, in 2015 and in 2020, on the Astoniavian joint hosting, along Decoria, Dyria and Lanovina. Atlandia, Lakadamia, Levalle, Wedse, US Eldance, and a joint hosting from Namimori and Qasentria have each hosted the tournament once.

As of the 2021 FANA World Cup, 19 countries have reached the final 4 at least once. Fordia is the country with the most top 4 finish, as they won the 2021 World Cup, finished as runner-up in 2017 and finished 4th in 2016 & 2018, Fordia and Lidonia also possess the longest streak of top 4, as both countries have reached the top 4 on 3 consecutive occasion (2016, 2017 & 2018 for Fordia, 2017, 2018 & 2019 for Lidonia), the most recent addition are Torlova and Dýria, runner-up and third-place of the 2021 World Cup. To this day, no countries have won the world cup more than once, although 3 countries have qualified for multiple finals. Wedse was the first host country to ever reach the top 4, finishing 4th while hosting the 2019 World Cup.
