List of country names in official languages of Wedse
Despite the fact that most countries of the world have their names transliterated directly from Everish in official languages of Wedse, some countries also have different names from their Everish names due to cultural, geographical, historical, political or other reasons. This article attempts to give all known alternative names for all nations, countries and sovereign states. It does not offer any opinion about what the "original", "official", "real", or "correct" name of any country is or was.
The Wedsen language (the dominant language in the country of Wedse), generally most countries names are simply transliterated into better versions which Wedsen citizens are more likely to be able to pronounce compared to the Everish versions. However, there are a few exceptions where country names in Wedsen have slightly been altered over the years due to geographical, historical and political changes within people’s perceptions of the country. As of 2021, the countries names are transliterated into the Wedsen script, a different script to the Everish script.
In the Mashgal language, country names become more complicated. There was never a ‘direct’ transliteration of every country in Fantasia for the Mashgal Language. They merely were translated by using words and other forms of description into forming a brand new word exclusive to that country, so that there was no confusion with the basic Mashgal vocabulary. Yet again, the script is also in Wedsen script, but of course with the different variation of characters which are not in the Wedsen alphabet.
Countries are listed alphabetically by their current best-known name in Everish. Each Everish name is followed by its currently best-known equivalents in other languages, listed in Everish alphabetical order by name and by language. Historical and/or alternative versions, where included, are noted as such. The officially recognized name of each country is bold.
