Fantasia Contest 16
The Fantasia Contest 16 was the sixteenth edition of the Fantasia Contest. It took place in Alkyria, following their second win in the previous edition with Shygirl and the song "Gush".

Fourty-seven countries participated in 16th edition, Namimori and Ximbala debuted, United States of Eldance returned, Ainigma, De Vremdspongeln, Equaland, Glaray, Golden Land and Maronesia withdrew.
The winner was Weyes Blood with "Movies" from Decoria with 403 points, with a margin of 63 points. This was the country's first win in Fantasia Contest and first and only automatic qualification for the grand final of next edition so far. Second place went to Frootania, third place went to Fordia (televote winner), fourth place went to Ruyjin Republic, fifth place went to Hwaesonna, the latter two countries gained their first automatic qualificatons.
Of "Big 6" members, Zylofonija placed 9th, the host country Alkyria placed 11th, Danskanksova placed 16th, Yster placed 22nd, Achróa and Lanovina placed 24th and 25 respectively.
Both Namimori and Ximbala failed to qualify, but Namimori would qualify for the 17th edition, and Ximbala would qualify for the 19th edition.
Format
The competition consisted of three semi-finals and a final. The countries with the highest score in each semi-final qualified to participate in the final, alongside the big five, the countries that were in the top 5 in the previous edition.

It was confirmed that fifty countries would perform in Estambla. Each semi final contained 15 semi finalists.

To be eligible to participate in the Fantasia Contest, a country is required to be an active member of the Fantasia Broadcasting Association (FBA). The FBA issued an invitation to all active members of the FBA to participate in the contest.
