2022 Dýrian parliamentary election

The 2022 Dýrian parliamentary election will take place on Saturday, 30 July, to elect the next Alþingi, the Dýrian parliament. The election was called following the dissolution of the Alþingi by president Ingibjörg Egilsdóttir, at the request of the Taoiseach, Sinéad Kýosdóttir on 8 July 2022. All but one of the 106 seats will be contested, with the Ceann Comhairle (Speaker) being returned automatically. It will be the first election in 20 years to be held on a weekend.
